Zovo Floor Plan

To-scale floor plans from room sizes.

Zovo Floor Plan turns a list of rooms with sizes into a floor plan drawn to scale. Give each room a width and a length in metres or in feet and inches, and place it with x and y or next to another room (right of, below, left of, above, with an offset). Two rooms with the same name make one L-shaped room. Add doors and windows by wall and offset. You get the area of each room, the total area, overall dimension lines, a scale bar and a north arrow, on an A4, A3, Letter or Tabloid page at a standard scale such as 1:50, 1:100 or 1/4 inch = 1 foot. Download a vector SVG and PDF that print to scale and a CSV area table. A separate check lists overlapping rooms, doors or windows that run past a wall end and rooms that do not touch the rest of the plan.

What it does

• Rooms as rectangles in metres or feet and inches (12'6", 12 ft 6 in, 12.5 ft), up to 40 rooms
• Place rooms by x and y or next to another room, with an optional offset; L-shaped rooms from two parts
• Areas to 0.01 m² or 0.1 sq ft from whole millimetres or 1/400 inch, and a total that is the sum of the rooms
• Doors with swing arcs and windows on any wall
• Standard scales (1:50, 1:100, 1/4" = 1') or auto fit, with a scale bar and north arrow
• Vector SVG and PDF that print to scale, plus a CSV area table
• A check for overlaps, openings past a wall end and rooms that do not touch the rest

Limitations

• Rooms are rectangles (an L-shape is two rectangles); curved or angled walls, stairs, furniture and wall thickness are not drawn
• Sizes are taken as given; the plan is a sketch for planning, not a survey or a permit drawing
• The PDF font covers Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and Vietnamese; other scripts show as ? in the PDF (the SVG keeps them)
• Plans are not kept; the files of a large plan are stored for 1 hour so the links work, then deleted
